

Randall “Randy” G. Seydler, Sr., age 89, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born August 9, 1921 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Sherman and Grace Seydler. Randy served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was wounded in Leipzig, Germany in December 1944. Randy married his wife, Edith in 1946 and they celebrated 65 years together. He was an optician for the White Haines Optical Co. for 34 years and was the first optical lab teacher with the Fort Hayes Vocational School System in Columbus. Randy was a resident of Reynoldsburg for 40 years and then moved to Estero, FL in 1998. He was a member of Estero Methodist Church. Randy is survived by his loving wife, Edith Seydler; son, Randall (Lisa) Seydler, Jr.; daughter, Sharon (David) Johnson; grandchildren, Heather (Tim) Funk, Brandy Seydler, Brett (Tawney) Seydler, Richard Esteph, Andrew (Casey) Dobbie, Jeremiah Johnson, and Kyle Kipple; great grandchildren, Matilyn and Mason Funk and Zoe Seydler; brother, Sherman (Elnora) Seydler and sister, Marjorie Laisure. Funeral service will be held 7:00 pm Friday, July 22, 2011 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave, where the family will receive friends 2-4 pm and 6 pm until the time of service.
