Raymond William Stark, age 73, of Grove City, died Wednesday January 6, 2016 with his two loving daughters, Michelle Fulks and Renae (Steve) Miller, by his side. Ray was born in Windsor Ontario Canada, moved to Grove City as a young man in 1963, and earned his American Citizenship in 1995 which afforded him the opportunity to vote and share his Republican opinions with anyone.
Ray founded Stark & Associates with his daughter Michelle in 1992. They started in the basement of his home and eventually moved to Broadway where they still reside today. He was affectionately known as “President & CEO”. They nationally were recognized in 1995 as being one of the Top Ten Fastest Growing Distributors by The Counselor Magazine. In 1997 they reached their first million dollars in sales. In 2000 they were honored by the Conway Family Business Center as Family Business of the Year. Ray was extremely proud of their many accomplishments.
Ray was an avid golfer and even played in the Memorial Tournament Pro-Am in 1974, a feat he spoke of often. He had his Pro-Am Dopp kit with him on the day that he died. He was a lifelong member of the Four Irons Golf League at Foxfire Golf Course and a member at Hickory Hills Golf Club where he was an original stock holder.
Ray was also a longtime member of the B.P.O.E #37 Grove City Elks, serving on the Captains Club and was the club’s 2007 Honoree for the Bombay Golf Outing.
Ray never knew a stranger and greeted everyone with a smile and “hello”. The most important thing in his life was his family. He shared many life lessons with his daughters and they will continue to pass those on to his grandchildren. They are truly blessed and honored to call him Dad and will forever miss his wonderful smile, big hugs and kisses, remembering always to end their conversations with “I love you.”
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, William and Kathleen Stark. In addition to his daughters, he is survived by grandchildren, Graham, Carson, Kennedy, and their dad, Craig Fulks; and Reagan, Lane, and Dalton Miller; sister Sandy “Sar” (Scotty) Laughland; brother Robert (Arlene) Stark; aunt Judy Schehr (nee Wild); uncle Pat Wild; many nieces and nephews; the love of his life Jane Stark; and hundreds of loving friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday January 10, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway. A funeral service will be held on Monday January 11, 2016 at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3730 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Interment Concord Cemetery.
