Rebecca Babcock

Rebecca "Jean" Babcock, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2020 at home with her family by her side. Jean was born on April 16, 1946 in War, West Virginia to Walter and Agnes Arnold. She graduated from Grove City High School and went on to attend college. Jean was a homemaker caring for her family. She was a member of Southwest Freewill Baptist Church, an avid walleye fisher and enjoyed walking. Preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Herman, Ramond, Marie, Kermit, Carl, Lonnie; and grandson, Austin Kirk. Survived by her husband, George Babcock; children, Freelin (Angela) Kirk, Joyce Kirk, Charles (Tamara) Kirk and Monica Cline; grandchildren, Dwayne Kirk, Maria Varney, Misty Abdel Jabbar, Chris Kirk, Jeana Kirk, Kyle Conrad, Chyanna Cline, Dylan Kirk, Billie Hawthorne, Donnie Cook, Russell and Sarah Sawman, Brayden and Gavin Kirk; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Della Lester, Glenna Reed, Clayton and Grady Arnold; many nieces, nephews and friends. Family will receive guests from 10:00 am - 12 noon on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Heart and Hope Funeral Home by Schoedinger, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon with Pastor Randy Barr officiating. Interment Alton Cemetery. Family ask that everyone wear a mask and keep social distance as there is only allowed 25 people in the visitation room at one time. We truly appreciate you coming and showing support for the family.
