She is survived by her husband of twenty-one years, Sean Fouts; her seven children, Christian (17), Abraham (15), Julia (13), Margaret (12), Veronica (10), Kateri (8), and Sara (2), her parents Patrick and Donna Higgins of Chillicothe, and her brother John (Cheryl) Higgins of St Louis, Missouri. She was preceded in death by a miscarried child Francis.
Becky graduated from the University of Dayton in 1997 and started a career as a special educator, with a special love for children with Down's Syndrome. Upon the birth of her first child in 2002, she no longer had an employer, instead starting a 15-year career of homeschooling her own children. This led to an innumerable amount of friendships for herself and her family with other homeschoolers throughout central Ohio. She spent uncounted hours volunteering with local homeschooling cooperatives, writing events in her (paper, not electronic) calendar, and transporting her seven children to field trips, classes, scouting meetings, sports practices, church camps, and doctor appointments. While doing all of this, she also spent time as an advocate for those with epilepsy.
We kindly ask that you don't believe or state that Becky "lost" her battle with cancer. Instead, with St. Paul, she has won the race. "For I am already on the point of being sacrificed; the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing." (2 Tim 4:6-8).
