Renate Joette Cleveland

September 14, 1960 – November 16, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Renate Cleveland. She peacefully left us on November 16, 2025 at the age of 65. Renate was born on September 14, 1960 in Greenup, Kentucky.

Renate was married to her loving husband, Larry for 41 wonderful years. Together, they raised three children—Kristen, Jared (Jessica) and Travis (Elbony) —whom she loved dearly. Renate was a devoted grandmother to Cassady, Heather (Kris), Bridget, Jess, Jordan, Patricia, Kelly, LJ, Josh, Bonnie, Etta and 2 great grandchildren , each of whom brought her so much joy.

Renate was preceded in death by her parents, Orlin and Patty, her brother Forest, and her sister-in-laws Debbie and Dee-Dee. She is survived by her sister Orlinna, and brothers Douglas, Jim and Aunt Frances. Many nieces, nephews, and brother- and sister-in-laws. Renate shared a special bond with her 2 nephews Pat and Dougie that she loved and cared for as her own.

Renate worked at Como Elementary School for 30 years, where she touched the lives of countless students and staff. Renate’s commitment to the children she worked with was a testament to her unwavering dedication and caring nature. For 30 years, she also contributed her time to the Ohio State Fair.

She held a special place in her heart for her dear friends Ms. Kibby, Tanya, and Bridges.

Renate’s kindness, strength, and love will be forever remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the generations of family, friends, and students whose lives she touched.

A celebration of Renate’s life will be held at Advantage by Schoedinger North on Tuesday, November 25th. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
