Richard C. Borror

Richard C. "Dick" Borror, age 85, passed away Tuesday, April 05, 2016 at Mill Run Gardens and Care Center. He was born March 14, 1931 to Curtis Henry and Margaret (Mackenzie) Borror in Columbus, Ohio. Dick was a proud graduate of Columbus West High School and The Ohio State University where he received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Dick was a dedicated teacher in the Grandview and Worthington school systems, as well as at Bliss College. For many years, he also worked for the Ohio State Auditor as the Deputy State Auditor, under Tom Ferguson. He also worked for the City of Columbus in several capacities, including as a manager for the Division of Sewer and Drains, as well as a manager in the Traffic Engineering Department. Dick also served as the Chief Administrator for the Franklin County Board of Commissioners from 1969-1971. Dick was very active in the Central Ohio Scottish community where he served for many years as the Chairman of the annual Robert Burns banquet held by Daughters of Scotland. He was a faithful lifelong member of Hoge Memorial Presbyterian Church and a proud lifelong Democrat. Dick enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Borror. Surviving are his sister-in-law, Joanne Borror; nephews, Doug (Kim) Borror and David (Patty) Borror; niece, Donna Myers; special friend Olga Lucia; great nephews and nieces, Brian (Cami) Myers, Kelly Myers, David Myers, Donald Borror and Dani (Zac) Sugarman; along with numerous good friends. Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2015 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Pastor Tracy Keenan, officiating. Private family interment at Sunset Cemetery at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1100 Dennison Ave, Columbus, OH 43201 or to Hoge Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2930 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204 in his name.
