Richard Peyton, age 78, passed away at his home on Friday, January 27, 2012. He was born in Columbus on March 15, 1933, to the late Jack and Gladys (Finch) Peyton. He was preceded in death by his son, Philip, brothers Gilbert and Daniel. Richard was well-known in the community as the previous owner of Taylor Avenue Carry-Out. Richard is survived by his children, Shirley Cannon, Karen (Ricco) Monroe, and Charmane Powell; sister, Betty Hall; grandchildren, Santino, Antonio, Kristina, and Nicole; great grandchild, Daivon; and many friends, including special friend Tina Burgess and her children, Savannah, Satia, Jerrone, and Dwayne (deceased). A memorial service in honor of Richard will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2012, at the SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State St. Inurnment will follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
