He attended The Ohio State University and was a stockbroker until he retired. Richard was an avid OSU Football fan, loved being around the ocean, especially Hilton Head and was a man who appreciated the beauty of a nice automobile.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marion Simmers. He is survived by his son, Richard "Rick" (Shirley) McGrotha of England; extended family, Catharine (Jon) Gray-Schatz, Dick (Cheri) Gray, Jack (Sandy) Robinson, Spencer Gray, Quinn Gray, numerous other nieces, nephews and friends.

A service will be held 11:00am Tuesday August 24th at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of 270) where friends may visit from 9:00am-11:00am. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio.
