Richard "Rick" Allan Weisheimer of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Born in Columbus on December 6, 1941 to the late Nadine and Art Weisheimer, he graduated from Upper Arlington High School (‘59) and majored in Fine Arts at The Ohio State University (’64). He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and served in the Army Reserve. Rick was one of those guys that everyone liked. He had no known enemies. If so, his best defense weapon would have been his friendly persuasive personality - and a golf club. He was one of the three original founders of GSW, an advertising agency now known as GSW Worldwide. Rick, along with his partners, Bob Gerbig and Chris Snell, began in 1977, doing advertising and PR work for regional Ohio clients. Starting with a staff of five, that grew to several hundred in Columbus when the company focused on health care. The agency expanded to other cities in the US and in Europe. Award-winning and highly respected, GSW became the largest independent health care agency in the United States. After retiring from GSW, he started his own business, Langport Marketing, LLC. Throughout his life, he played golf and enjoyed the 19th hole at Scioto Country Club, travelled, enjoyed art (too many paintings) and music (basement concerts - too loud), and was a fan of Ohio State and Cleveland sports (still waiting for a Superbowl). He is survived by his brother Tip Weisheimer (Laurie), his wife of 61 years Patty, children Jill and J.D. Weisheimer (Susan); grandchildren Rachel and Jenna Drobny, Grant and Cole Weisheimer. At later date, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate his life. Rick may have left this earth, but he left us many wonderful memories and an admirable legacy.
