

Richard E. Williams Jr., age 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 3, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Beverly; daughters, Christine (Barry) Davis, Pamela Williams; Son, Paul (Misty) Williams; and six granddaughters, Samantha, Ashley, Brittany, Taylor, Madison, and Lauren. Also survived by mother, Elizabeth Guisinger; and sisters, Linda (Joe) Allensworth, Kelly Landusky; sister-in-law, Gigi Williams; in-laws Paul and Lou Uhrig, Richard (Terri) Uhrig, Jeri (Mike) Nauman; and many nieces and nephews. Richard is preceded in death by his father, Richard Williams Sr., and brothers James Williams and Terry Williams. Richard was an Eagle Scout in 1964 in Troop 209. He graduated from Brookhaven High School in 1968. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps with the 2nd Battalion 26th Marines. He served from 1968 to 1970, and was a Vietnam Veteran. Richard worked 28 years for St. Regis Paper Mill, 16 years for Columbus City Schools (Northland High School), and 12 years for Securitas Security. He was a fan of OSU Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers. In addition to this, Richard was an avid sports card and stamp collector and he also loved to fish. The family thanks Riverside Hospital 7 Silver and 5 Blue, and the Ohio Health Hospice team for bringing him home safely and all the loving care you gave. Special thanks to Pastor Ron Hitchcock at Vineyard Columbus for all his services and support, and one last special thank you to Sheree Tierry-Vulara and Jeannine Tongert. Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 5-8pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTH FUNERAL HOME, 5554 Karl Road, where a funeral service will be held at 11am, Wednesday November 27, 2019. Interment to follow in procession at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
