Rita G. Eickholt

Rita G. Eickholt, age 89, of Upper Arlington passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at her home. Rita was born on October 20, 1921 in Ottoville, Ohio; she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Regina Wannemacher. Rita is also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Bob; brothers, Earl, Rich, Norval and Robert Wannemacher; and sister, Jean Leonard. She graduated from Mt. Carmel School of Nursing with her R.N. and was a nurse for over 25 years retiring from Juvenile Diagnostic Center. Rita was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church, participated in activities at the VFW with her husband, Bob and played many card games at the Moose Lodge in Hilliard. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Rita is survived by her children, David (Margaret) Eickholt of Avon, Colorado and Robert (Jane) Eickholt of Columbus; grandchildren, Kerry Eickholt of Cambridge, MA, Lisa Eickholt of Tampa, FL, Ginna Eickholt of Dublin, OH and Max Eickholt of Tampa, FL; sisters, Priscilla Wannemacher of Ottoville, OH, and Alice Maag of Ft. Jennings, OH; along with countless nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 4-7pm at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221; where services will be on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 10am; Father Daniel Ochs celebrant.
