

Robert Lee Aurand, 88, of Columbus, Ohio passed away October 19, 2016. Bob was born in Warren, Ohio January 9, 1928 to Elvera and Wilbur Aurand. He lived most of his life in Warren, moving to Columbus in 2003. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jacqueline (Lyon); daughters, Barb Johnson, Kathy Sabo, Jill Bliss (Dave); and son, Rob Aurand (Cindy). Bob has 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Don Aurand; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, first in Warren, and more recently in Westerville. He graduated from Warren Harding High School, and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea. Bob worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Company for 37 years, retiring in 1983. Bob spent many years singing in church choirs, and also sang in barbershop chorus/quartets. He traveled to Europe and Australia/New Zealand with barbershop groups. He was an avid football fan, especially following OSU and the Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians. Bob played golf after retirement, and was involved in many community/volunteer activities. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4686 E. Walnut Street, Westerville, Ohio. A private inurnment will be held at a future date in Warren, Ohio. SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL handled the arrangements.
