Robert Edward Duvall, 71, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015. He was born November 23, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Jess and Coreen Duvall. A proud retired U.S. Navy veteran and a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #6590, Bob also retired from Grant Medical Center after 30 years. But in retirement as throughout his life, he never sat still. From leadership roles in the Boy Scouts and Westgate United Methodist Church, to volunteer projects he enjoyed with his family, to simply being a good neighbor and friend by driving someone to a medical appointment or taking them to lunch, it was always clear that the only thing bigger than Bob’s personality was his heart. His family was his life and if Bob included you on that extensive list- whether by genetics or his choosing- you know how fortunate you truly are. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Don and Tom Duvall. Bob is survived by the love of his life for over 48 years, Kathleen “Katie” Duvall; his children and source of immeasurable pride to him, Rob Duvall and Kim (Doug) Casto; his grandchildren and center of his universe Zane and Cori Casto; siblings, Jerry (Lynn) Duvall and Jean (Warren) George; and many other relatives and dear friends. Visitation will be 2-5 PM Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio where funeral service will follow at 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to Easter Seals Disability Services, 3830 Trueman Ct., Hilliard, OH 43026.
