Robert R. Burkhard

Robert Roy Burkhard, age 66 of Galloway, passed away October 24, 2011. Robert was born in Bismarck, North Dakota, son of the late John and Margaret Burkhard. Also preceded in death by his siblings, Carol Davis, John W., William, and Donald Burkhard. Robert grew up in the Wisconsin area. He graduated from Homestead High School, Mequon, Wisconsin, Class of 1964. Following, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Throughout his career, Robert worked in both Graphic Arts and Printing and eventually retired in 2008. Robert was a very kind man who was honest and trustworthy. Family was very important to him, and he loved nothing more than spending time with them, especially his best friend and grandson, Austin. In addition to family, Robert also enjoyed building classic car models, traveling, and sometimes indulging in sweets. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Denise Burkhard; daughters, Jennifer (Matthew) Freeman and Pam Burkhard; grandson, Austin Gavin; sister, Ruth Sorbel; and many other extended family members and dear friends.
