Robert D. Conn

Robert D. Conn, age 78, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2009, at Mount Carmel East. He was born in Columbus on February 4, 1931, and attended Central High School. Bob then joined the United States Air Force and retired after more than 40 years of service both active duty and in the Reserves. During his time in the Reserves, he worked as an accountant with the Columbus City Fire Department where he made many friends. Bob greatly enjoyed NASCAR, camping, and Washington Redskins football. He also loved a good debate, going to flea markets, and going out for dinner at various restaurants. He is survived by his wife of more than 20 years, Linda; best friends, Charles and Sandie O’Dell; cousins, Susie and Jim Mann, and JC and Laura Mann; and his beloved dog, Rascal. Bob’s family wishes to give a special thank you to the caring staff at Mount Carmel East and to Dr. James Klein. Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2009, at the funeral home with Celebrant Andrew Hoover officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
