

Robert “Bob” J. Kroetz passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Born on September 13, 1931 to Robert J. and Eleanor Kroetz in Fostoria OH. Married Betty Jane Kroetz on April 16, 1955; she died on September 17, 2008 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Bob is survived by sons, Steven (Diana), Oneida, WI and Douglas (Jill Germek), Columbus; grandchildren Cassandra and Aaron Kroetz, Nicole (Brian) Thomas and Warren Drew Koster; great-granddaughter Hailey Dawn; sister Patricia Meyers; brother Edward (Sandy) Kroetz; and very special friends John Logan and Shirley Griffin. Bob graduated from Fostoria High School and from Bliss College. He served in the US Air Force from 1949 to October 1954. Bob worked for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad when he moved to Columbus, then the Boy Scouts of America, John Cantlon & Assoc., and Computer Consultants Inc (CCI). He retired from CCI but enjoyed working part-time for CCI after his retirement. Bob spent his summers at Lake Erie where he enjoyed boating and fishing with many friends. He was a long time active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 S. Third St., Columbus where the Memorial Service, officiated by Pastor Charles Peterson, will be held on Saturday, October 30 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, Bob’s wishes were for memorial contributions to be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Alzheimer’s Assoc., Stand Up for Cancer, or a charity of your choice.
