Robert McIlvain

Robert "Bob" McIlvain, age 93, of Columbus Ohio, passed away Monday April 10, 2017, peacefully at home. Robert was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on January 23, 1924 to the late Winford and Rose McIlvain.

Graduate of Martins Ferry High School class of 1942. He was in the Army and served in Europe during WWII in the 20th Armor Division. Graduate of The Ohio State University in 1950. Bob was a life member and past president of the Alpha Athletic Club and member of the VFW. He retired from Worly Plumbing Supply and enjoyed spending winters in Malabar, Florida. In his later years, Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores; and his brother, Walten McIlvain.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Rosann (Patrick) Ruble, Michael (Cindy), Richard (Susie), and Robert McIlvain; grandchildren, Marc (Renee) Sahr, Michelle (Erik) Fuss, Betsy (Sean) Anderson, Matt (Lora) McIlvain, Shelly (Tyler) Gillies, Drew Ruble, and Garrett McIlvain; great grandchildren, Alyssa Sahr, Savanna and Landon McIlvain, Hailey and Ty Gillies, Riley and Fitz Anderson; sister-in-law Carole Carroll; and extended family and dear friends. Memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., where family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until time of service.
