

Robert Thomas Porter, age 66, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011. He was born July 18, 1945 in Columbus and served in the U.S. Army. Bob was a proud graduate of Central Evening High School in 1975. Following his retirement from the City of Columbus, Division of Electric, he went to work for W.G. Fairfield Company and then became “Mr. Trolley Man” at Easton, where he ran the Trolley, a job he loved! Bob was many things to many people: keeper of the remote control, instigator, aggravator, movie critic, hunter, fisherman, cook, and above all, devoted family man. To his wife, Sharon (McMannis) Porter, he was the “pain in my ass, the thorn in my side and the love of my life”. He was the proud father of Sheri Lynn (JJ) Fannin and Bobbi Jo (Robert A.) Lawson. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, Coleman and Logan Browning. He is also survived by his brother, Eddie (Jackie) Shell; brothers and sisters-in-law, George (Pam) McMannis, Danny (Connie) McMannis and Cindy McMannis; nieces and nephews, Michael and Chad (Jennifer) Owsley, Buddy (Andrea) Carter, Debbie Jenkins and Sharon Hayes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Porter and Mary Porter Shell as well as siblings, Jim, Don, Bill and Ray Porter; Jean Steele and Norma Carter. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 E. Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123 where services will be held Wednesday at 11am; Rev.
