Robert Lee Steele

Robert Lee Steele, age 78, of Columbus, died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 23. 2020 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born January 27, 1942 in Amherstdale, West Virginia, the son of Raymond and Jennie (McGuire) Steele. Robert was an retired electrical motor repairman who worked many years with Mid-Ohio Electric and Shoemaker Electric Company's. He also just retired from his mowing business, Steele Suburban Farm.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years,

Thelma J. Steele; son, Rodney L. Steele; grandchildren, Tiffani C. Steele and her partner Jordon Donaldson, Rodney L. Steele, Jr. and wife Alex N. Steele; great-grandchildren, Owen Robert Steele and Roman P. Steele; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, "Mike" Clifford Rawlins and wife Cathy, Randy Rawlins and wife Frieda and Kathy Wells. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rickey Lee Steele and sisters, Barbara Sheldon and Betty Nickles.

Veteran U.S. Navy. Robert was a dedicated and passionate husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather known for his sense of humor. He was a hunter, sportsman and loved horses, especially his quarter horse, Paige. Friends may call 4-7 pm Thursday, December 31, 2020 at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E. Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH 43232. Attendance levels will be monitored to comply with social distancing requirements and masks are required for family and friends. Private interment South Webster, Ohio at a later date.
