

Robert J. “Bob” VanHouten, age 61, passed away suddenly on June 6, 2010. He was born on January 17, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio. Currently Employed with CBS Outdoor. Previous owner of Van’s Carryout and Vango’s Drive Thru. Longterm employment with Phillips Electronics. He Graduated from Bishop Ready High School. Bob was everything everybody ever wanted to be. He was loving, generous, strong, energetic and loved to have a good time. He was very devoted to his family and friends. Bob never made anyone feel like a stranger, he loved and cared about everyone. He loved to spend time on the lake with lots of family and friends, He loved his Buckeyes, and to travel to the Caribbean waters. He loved a good challenge because he knew he was always right. He will be sadly missed by all His Family and friends, but his love and kindness will live on through every life that he touched. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Rick, Granddaughter, Hanna and Nephew, Justin Sanders. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah (Debbie); devoted children Travis (Christie), Adam, Jill and Jenna; Grandchildren Cory, Tyler, Nathan, Skylor, Jada and Lance; Mother, Dorothy Van Houten, Father Wilbur (Eva) Van Houten, Sisters; Jewell (Drew) Tilley, Jodie (Billy) Sanders; Rhonda (Steve) Snyder; Sister-in-law Rose (Phil) Hartzell; numerous nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends 6-8 Wednesday, June 9 and 2-4 & 6-8. Thursday, June 10 at Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W. Broad Street. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 11 at Holy Family Church. Fr. Kevin Lutz celebrant. Sunset Cemetery Burial. In lieu of flowers; contributions can be made to The American Heart Association /St. Jude Medical.
