Rod Baughman

Rod was born in Newark on June 12, 1962 to Kenneth and Kay (Mann) Baughman. He died Monday April 23, 2012 at his home. He was 49.

He played football at Licking Valley HS and was a member of the Class of ’80. He studied autobody and paint at JVS , and worked for different body shops, mainly Hinderer Honda and Chesrown Olds. He was in the process of restoring an old Jeep, loved country music, writing poems and songwriting.

Rod is preceded in death by his father Kenneth. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Deborah (Detty) Baughman, children Tracy (Heather) Rakaska, Stephen (Stephanie) Rakaska, Matthew (Lisa) Wheeler, and Mindy (Chet) Dunlap; numerous grandchildren that he would play football and x-box with, one great-granddaughter and another great-grandchild is on the way. Brother James (Rhonda) Baughman, sister Cheryl (Benny) Thompson, mother-in-law Rose “Mammy Jammy” (as he used to call her) Detty, and his pet Shasta.
