

Rodney L. Farrell was born March 25, 1935 in Delaware, Ohio and passed peacefully from this life on September 21, 2017 at home in Westerville, Ohio. Rod was a man who lived each and every day to the fullest, never taking anyone or anything for granted. He served in the U.S. Army. Following a lifelong management career with Sears, Rod took a job with Garda Armored Car. For several years he worked security at the Des Moines, Iowa Civic Center, where he had the opportunity to meet many celebrities. When he returned to Ohio, he happily resumed working for Garda. He was known as "Hollywood Rod" in the world of Karaoke and was passionate about cars, gambling, boating, cruising and even held a pilot's license. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 41 years, Patricia (Goebel); son Richard (Barb) Farrell; daughter Cynthia (Tim) Jacks; sons Sean Michael Farrell and Dustin Michael Farrell; grandchildren Whitney and Danielle Columbro; 2 great-grandchildren; countless nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life service led by Pastor Adam Metz will be held at 2pm Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230 where family will receive friends one hour prior, as well as at a reception immediately following the service.
