Roger Chilton Hill

Roger Chilton Hill, age 81 of Westerville, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013. Roger was born and raised in Odessa, West Virginia, son of the late Denver and Retha Hill. Also preceded in death by his step-daughter, Renay (Mann) Travis, grandson, Billy Mann and sister, Neva (Hill) Walling. Roger retired from Lucent Technologies after 30 years of service. Roger was truly a man who had a personality all his own. He was a wonderful craftsman who enjoyed creating knives and building and flying model airplanes. Roger was also a life member of the NRA, President of the "Liars Club" and was one of the best storytellers around. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 38 years, Ruth Hill; children, James Hill, Sharon (Delbert) Baker and Richard Mann; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Ivadene O'Neill; sister, Avis (Hill) Rose; brother, Walter (Peggy) Hill; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., where family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday.
