

Roger Page Jones, age73, died at the OSU Ross Heart Hospital on Friday, June 7, 2013. He was born in Pennsboro, WV on June 20, 1939 to the late Louise (Cunningham) and Page Jones. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean (Phillips) Jones; children, Carrie Louise (William) Lewis and Timothy Page (Stacy) Jones; grandchildren, Erin Louise Lewis, Sarah Jean Lewis, Kelly Marie Lewis, William Roger Lewis, and Hunter Jacob Scott; and brother, Barry Malcolm (Anne) Jones. Roger graduated from Marshall University, Huntington, WV in 1961 and worked in the concrete industry for over 40 years. He served as President and CEO of Ohio Ready Mixed Concrete Association (ORMCA) for 19 years. Roger was instrumental in establishing the Concrete Technology Program at Rhodes State College, Lima, OH where he established a Scholarship for students in Concrete Technology and served as Chair of the Foundation Board and Chair of the Civil Engineering Technology Advisory Committee. After retirement from ORMCA, Roger worked with Serenity Street Foundation, Columbus, OH (a drug and alcohol abuse program) for several years, part of the time as president. He loved fishing, hunting (especially duck hunting), and golf. His family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.) Gahanna. A Memorial Service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 14 at Stonybrook United Methodist Church 485 Cherry Bottom Rd., Gahanna with Reverend Joe Manos, Reverend Mike Bowie, and Reverend Nicole Baker officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mifflin Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Roger’s memory may be made to Rhodes State College 4240 Campus Dr., Lima, OH 45804.
