U.S. Navy Veteran 1948-1952. Served with Atlantic and Pacific Fleets, Korean War. Graduate 1953 Grand Rapids Junior College, Assoc. of Arts, Cum laude, 1956 Michigan Technological University, B.S. Geological Engineering, Cum laude, 1966 Capital University Law School J.D. Cum laude. Honoraries, Delta Pi Alpha, Tau Beta Pi, Phi Kappa Phi, Order of Curia.

Worked as engineer for Columbia Gas, Public Defender, partner in law firm of Volkema, Redmond & Post, assistant general counsel and secretary, Columbia Gas. Member of Olentangy Christian Reformed Church, American Legion Post 239 Leasure-Blackston, Worthington, United Ostomy Assoc. Past member Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, Franklin County Trial Lawyers Assoc. and Ohio Bar.

Survived by wife, Nina (nee Austin) of 58 years; children, Sue (Tom) Loughrin, Sandy (Larry) Thacker, Dan (Julie) Post, and Jim (Angie) Post; nine grandchildren, Robin, Kevin and Karyn Loughrin, Casey and Jared Thacker, Robert and Andrew Post, and Ryan and Shannon Mackey; and 2 great-grandchildren, Mia Jones and Noah Loughrin.

Family will receive friends Friday, June 8, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Olentangy Christian Reformed Church, 3660 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, Rev. Robert A. Arbogast, officiating.
