Ronald Dale Adams

Ronald Dale Adams (Ron), 81, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away suddenly Feb. 5, 2016, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born May 23, 1934, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, and was the son of the late Stanley and Serretta Adams. Ron grew up in Olean, New York, and was a graduate of both Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania and Indiana University where he earned his MBA with a major in accounting. Ron raised a family in Upper Arlington, Ohio, where he worked as a CPA for Haskins and Sells; then went on to have a 20-year career as the CFO of Doctors Hospital and two years as chief financial officer at OhioHealth. Ron retired in 2000 for two years but returned to the work he loved as a consultant in finance for Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster for the past 10 years. He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Westerville. He served on many not-for-profit organizations including Recreation Unlimited for over 35 years and National Church Residences. Ron served as treasurer for the board of Recreation Unlimited and chairman for two years for National Church Residences. He is survived by three children: Laurie Adams of California, Dan Adams of Pennsylvania and Debbie (Adams) Murray of Maine; four grandchildren: Michael (Mick) Ford and Bobby, Finn and Maggie Murray; sisters: Wilma ("Billie") Adams and Barbara Maloney. He will also be deeply missed by two special women: Joan (Phillips) Adams and Dr. Naomi Wriston. In 2014 he received Fairfield Medical Center's "Foundation Legendary Employee Philanthropist" Award for impacting an immeasurable number of lives and for his investment in the future of Fairfield Medical Center through the Foundation. Family will receive friends and colleagues at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington Thursday, Feb. 18 from 5-7 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at Riverside Methodist Church, 2701 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington Friday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to The Ron Adams Memorial Fund.
