

Mr. Clapper was born in Altoona, PA on February 16, 1930 to the late Allen and Corrine (Dehaven) Clapper. He died Tuesday June 14, 2011 at the Inn at Sharonbrooke, He was 81.
Ronald is preceded in death by his wife Frances Clapper to whom he had been married for 55 years.
He is survived by his children daughter Christi (Tony) Miller of Newark, Tim (Wanda) Clapper of Mobile, AL, and Tami (Dennis) Starkey of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren Rian, Sam, Melissa, Brian, Kalista and Cecelia and his great-grand son Morgan; brother Gordon Clapper of Covington, LA and sister Vivian Kuny of Lilburn, GA.
Mr. Clapper attended Altoona HS where he enjoyed playing football. He attended Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA where he co-captained the football team to its first undefeated season in 1953. In 2005 he was elected to the Juniata College Hall of Fame for his part in the ’53 season. He served his country in WWII in the US Navy Atlantic Theater of Operations, then went to work for the Owens-Corning Fiberglas Co, rising to Sr Vice President, loved to golf, fish, and travel with his wife.
