Ronald J. Crist

Ronald J. Crist, age 78, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Kobacker House, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 30, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Russell J. and Betty Jane Crist. Ron was a proud graduate of West High School and an active member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association. His dedication to family and community extended through his long-standing involvement with St. John Lutheran Church and Westgate Masonic Lodge #623 F&AM. He spent many years working at Lucent Technologies before retiring.

Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia “Patti” Crist, and his brother, Jerry L. Crist. He is survived by his two sons, Russell J. (Jill) Crist and Michael A. (Chrissy) Crist, along with his grandchildren, Redmund and Hilleary Crist, and Leeann and Hank Haywood. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Beverly Crist, many dear friends, and his loyal dog, Zoe II. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Advantage Funeral Services by Schoedinger Hilltop, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, 2745 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204, with Pastor Tim Lee officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in Ron's memory. Donations in Ronald's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
