Ronald Lee Long

Ronald L. Long, age 79, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015. He was born April 8, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Jack and Mary (Meadows) Long. He was a lifelong resident of Grove City, Ohio and was very active with the Grove City High School Class of 1954. He retired from Rockwell International after 35 years of service. He was a member of Grove City Elks Lodge #37 and member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grove City. Ronnie enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels and organized the "Breakfast Club" for Rockwell International retirees. He was also an avid traveler, trickster and card player. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Long. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy "Suzie" Long; daughters, Brenda (Fred, Jr.) Severs and Rosemary (Ken) Anderson; granddaughter, Natalie (fiancé, Jason Maier) Severs; grandson, Joshua Severs; great granddaughter, Trinity; extended family, William and Janet Lotz and Glenna and Ralph Ruoff; and many other relatives and close friends. He was a loving and generous man. He will be deeply missed. Visitation will be 2 - 6 PM Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Monday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3220 Columbus St., Grove City. Interment Grove City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ronnie's memory may be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church's Organ and Renovation Fund or Mount Carmel Hospice.
