Ronald Joseph Mayernik

Ronald “Ron” Joseph Mayernik, age 73, of Columbus, Ohio, passed peacefully at Kobacker House on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Ron was born in Lilly, PA on December 22, 1942. He was a proud Vietnam veteran after he served our country from 1969-1970. He retired from Big Bear Supermarkets after 27 years of service. Ron was an avid OSU football and basketball fan. He worked as a Red Coat for over 30 years including the Woody Hayes era.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, John and Annabelle (Rainey) Mayernik, and his sister Arletta Obert. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Joi, daughters Rhonda (Richard) Steele, Bridget (Todd) Bosworth, Stephanie Mayernik Wallace, Melissa Garza, Samantha (Michael) Baum, brother Barry (Pauline) Mayernik, sister Diann Spicer, grandchildren Heath, Megan, Paige, Holly, Hunter, Ali, Donovan, Scarlett, Leona, great-grandchild Madden, mother of Rhonda, Bridget, and Stephanie, Sandra Mayernik, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Candie.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 1-3pm and 5-7pm at the Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43232. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10am at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal, 5225 Refugee Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43232. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio Health Hospice and The American Heart Association.
