I am so sorry for your loss.  May the outpouring of sympathy, the kind acts of friends and strangers, as well as your memories give you comfort to help you endure the days ahead.  The Bible also offers comfort.  “For God is near to those broken at heart. “ Ps 34:17,18.  Our Creator promises that there will soon be a time when “death will be no more.” Revelation 21:4. Lit a candle in memory of Roy Edward Cotton

To the Family of Roy Cotton, I am truly sorry for your loss and would like to share a few thoughts from the bible that may give you some comfort during this time. In the account of Lazarus in John 11:11-14, Jesus explained death this way, "our friend has gone to rest, but I am journeying there to awaken him from sleep." We also know that God promised the following regarding those that have passed in death (sleeping) in John 5:28,29, "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out..."

These two scriptures give us great comfort to know that those we have lost in death as Jesus stated are only sleeping, and if you also read in Ecclesiastes 9:5 the dead are "conscious of nothing at all." Therefore, we know that they are in the same state we are when we sleep. However, soon, according to the scriptures, they will hear Son of God and they will rise from their sleep just like Lazarus did and come out. What an encouraging thought for all of us to consider that soon we will be reunited with those that we have lost in death. I thought this might give you some comfort during your time of loss.

Have many happy memories of Roy and "the gang".  Roy was always a joy to be with, and was one of the first people I met in Grove City.  Just remember..........the price of love is grief (but it's well worth it).

Roy will be saddly missed by everyone who knew him.   He always had a smile on his face and was always very nice.  We will always cherish the times we spent in Roy and Jeanne's garage watching the Twin 125's (as they were known back then) and many of the NASCAR races.   He was always one of the first shoppers of the day at Giant Eagle and will be a missed presence there.   Our hearts go out to Jeanne, Gary, Beth and all of the Cotton family.
