Roy M. Peltomaa

Roy M. Peltomaa, age 84, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 9, 2017. Roy was born on October 15, 1932 in Painesville, Ohio to John E. and Elma (Waris) Peltomaa. Roy proudly served our country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the Huntington Bank. Roy was a member of Abundant Life Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, playing poker and reading. Roy will be fondly remembered for being friendly and witty and for his jokes. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Elma Peltomaa; wife of 45 years, Carol A. Peltomaa and sister, Clarion Naftanail. Survived by his loving children, Laurel Stiles, Roy A. (Janice) Peltomaa, Leslye (Doug) Winkler, Lynne (William) Moore; grandchildren, Bo Peltomaa, Kellie (Elliot) Bradley, Ann (John) Beauchamp, Amy Winkler, Evan Moore, Elena (Austin) Baumgard and Elise (Daniel) Fair; great granddaughter, Rose Baumgard and the anticipation of a great grandson; sister, Marion Merz and brother, Raymond E. (Donna) Peltomaa; other relatives and friends. Family will receive visitors from 4-7 pm on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the HOPE and HEART FUNERAL HOME by SCHOEDINGER, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 14, 2017 with Pastor Matt Cox and Pastor Bob Groenke. Interment at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation
