

National Mother of The Churches of God MPG of T, Ruby Ray (Saunders) Berry, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Edwight, WV on July 15, 1933, the seventh of thirteen children, to the late General and Elsie (Lemons) Saunders. Ruby pastored for more than 40 years. She was an LPN for 16 years at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV. She enjoyed baking, traveling, and word searches. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Jessie Craft Berry, Sr.; brothers, Russell, Arthur, Otis, and Herbert Saunders; sisters, Virginia Miller, Louise Jenkins, Lorrine Moorman, Estell Collins, Betty Stewart, Reva Lee, and Mary Etta Saunders; son-in-law, Jorenza Hunter, Sr.; grandsons, David McCrary and Jessie C. Berry III; and twin great-grandchildren. Ruby is survived by her children, Jessica "Paulette" (Mark) Taylor, Lisa Hunter, Jessie (Lucille) Berry, Jr., Edward (Aliene) Berry, Revella (Ralph) McCrary, Nina (Alex) Moore, and Richard Berry, Sr.; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 11 am until 1 pm Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, 1636 Graham Rd. Reynoldsburg, OH 43068, where the funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Private interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger East.
