Russell Alvin "Russ" King, Sr., age 64, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. Retired from DCSC after 35 years of service. Member of Grace United Church of Christ. Avid bowler for many years. Russ was preceded in death by his daughter, Tanya King; father, Robert L. King, Sr.; and brother, Robert L. King, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Bonnie King; mother, Shirley King; children, Teresa Watkins, Russell "Rusty" King, Jr., Christopher Lehman, and Rhonda (Robert) Funk; brother, Dana (Tina) King of Kaukauna, Wisconsin; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, June 24, 2017. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace United Church of Christ, 1226 Shady Lane Rd. Columbus, OH 43227.
