

Ruth H. Van Schelt, age 93, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Kobacker House, Columbus, OH surrounded by her family. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 6, 1919 to the late Henry and Emelie Anvelink. Ruth lived in Akron, OH most of her life, but also resided in Green Bay, WI, Portland, OR, Las Vegas, NV and Columbus, OH. She retired from PPG Industries (Columbia Chemical) Barberton, OH after 21 years in 1978. She was married to Andrew C. Van Schelt in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1972. She is also preceded by her brother Howard Anvelink. Ruth is survived by her children, Janice (John) Hicks and Howard (Jane) Van Schelt; grandchildren, Jonathon Van Schelt, Heather Van Schelt, and Kathleen (Jeff) Spicer; great grandchildren, Tyler Haines, Adam Spicer, and Emilee Spicer. Friends and family are invited to a graveside celebration of Ruth’s life which will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 24, 2011 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron, OH.
