

Samuel “Pete” Frederick Cook, age 95, of Circleville, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010. He was born in Pickaway County to the late Fred and Ada (Lindsey) Cook on June 17, 1915. He was a 1935 graduate of Walnut Township High School and was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII. He retired from DuPont. Pete was a member of the Circleville Lion’s Club, VFW Post #3331, American Legion Post #0134, Soldiers Monumental Association of Pickaway County, and was an active mason and member of Pickaway County Lodge #23 F&A.M. Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Circleville Chapter #20 R.A.M., Tyrian Council #60 R&S.M., Scioto Commandery #35 K.T. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Jack Cook. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Dorothy (Hoffman) Cook; son, Bruce (Vicky) Cook, grandchildren, Stacy (Brent) Planck and Haley Cook; great-grandson, Cody Planck; a special brother in-law, Forrest Hoffman; and several nieces and nephews.
