Sandra Sue Montgomery

Sandra Sue Montgomery, age 65 of Columbus, passed away January 11, 2011. Sandra was born in Washington, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Mark and Jean Opatt. Also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Robert Esselstein. Sandra was a very resilient and spiritual woman who had a strong faith in God. She was affiliated with St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Hilliard and was a member and former officer of the American Legion Bexley Post #430. She was a tremendous Pittsburgh Steelers fan throughout her entire life, but most of all Sandra’s love and passion were for her children. She will be missed by her loving companion, Frank Reeves; children, Robert (Christine) Jackson and Stephanie Esselstein; grandchildren, Christopher and Robert Jackson; brothers, Mark (Maryann), Bill (Barbara), and Scott Opatt; sisters, Bonnie (Ray) Caumo and Mary (Al Changco) Roth; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Chapel, 9571 N. High St., Lewis Center. Father Rodric DiPietro Celebrant. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where a prayer service will begin at 6:15 P.M. Sister Patricia McMahon, OSF, Presiding. Sandra wanted to thank all her angels at the Zangmeister Center, especially Dr. Sundarum for all the loving care she received. She also wanted to request that there will be no mourning in black; all her friends are to come wearing their Steelers jerseys or a favorite jersey of their choice.
