Sara Jane Young

Sara Jane Young, age 91, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at First Community Village. She was born May 15, 1919 in London, Ohio to the late Elvin and Hazel Hunter. Sara was a 1937 graduate of London High School and then earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from The Ohio State University. Following a few years of teaching, Sara gave many years to the Ohio Bell Telephone Co., from where she retired. Sara was a member of Riverside United Methodist church. She was always very active, whether it be traveling, participating in community theatre, Eastern Star (Worthington Charter #287), volunteering at the Upper Arlington Senior Center, or attending an OSU football game, she lived life to its fullest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Henry “Clay” Young; sister, Norma Dilion and brothers, Richard, Robert and John Hunter. Survived by her sister, Dorothy (Roger) Stockman, of Deptford, NJ; many nieces and nephews and longtime friend, Evelyn Meyers. Friends may call 12-1pm Friday, December 3, 2010 at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL 3920 Broadway Grove City where the funeral service will be held at 1pm; Rev.
