A beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished sister, treasured daughter, and prized friend, Sarah was born June 7, 1974, in Shelby, Ohio, to David and Mary Ann (Klingbiel) Boor. She studied business at Ohio University in Athens, where the Phi Mu honorary can queen graduated in 1996. There, she met the love of her life, Mark Bennett. The two wed in 1999.
Sarah began her career as a legal assistant at Bricker and Eckler LLP. She earned her paralegal certificate at Capital University and became a paralegal at the Epcon Group in 1998. She joined Nationwide in 2000 as a senior paralegal and was promoted to investments paralegal supervisor in March.
She was also a gifted painter who embraced the arts. Sarah recently became a docent at the Columbus Museum of Art in order to reinvigorate her creative side and give back to the community. She was inspired of late by Van Gogh’s Olive Trees pieces, which she found soothing and which reminded her of her favorite place in the world, Provence.
Her love of arts is also evident in music, as the band Over the Rhine recognized Sarah as one of theguardian angels who helped support its 2013 album, Meet Me at the Edge of the World.
The love and joy she shared in life survives through her husband; her children, Julian (Jude) Boor Bennett (12), and Seth Sabino Bennett (9); her sister, Abigail Grace Boor Holden; her parents; her beloved rescue dog, Harriet; and a community of friends.
Sarah’s community will gather to grieve, share memories and pay respects at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 1051 Johnstown Rd. in Gahanna on Wednesday from, 5-8 pm. A service celebrating Sarah’s life will be held at 2pm, Thursday, October 8, 2015, where friends may gather starting at 1pm that afternoon.
