

Sarah E. Wilkinson, age 75, of Columbus, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2017. She was born in Lenore, WV on March 29, 1942 to George Rueben Evans II and Polly (Sturgell) Evans. Sarah was employed as a cook for the Southwestern City Schools, The Heinzerling Foundation and later for Buckeye Ranch from which she retired. She loved her work and saw it as a form of ministry. She was a current member of Calvary Community Church where she was active as a Sunday School teacher. Sarah enjoyed crocheting and reading Christian romance novels, particularly by her favorite author Beverly Lewis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband of 34 years, Walter E. Ashley; siblings James Richard Evans, Eileen Doris (Evans) Mullins who was lovingly called Oopie by her family, Wanda Lee (Evans) Hall, Daniel Evans, and Mary Jane (Evans) Thompson. Sarah is survived by her loving husband Joseph, son, Roc (Brandy) Ashley; step-children Michael (Priscilla) Ashley, Darla ( Ashley) Ferretti, Todd (Angela) Wilkinson, Misty (Joel) McLaughlin, Holly (Chad) Engler, and Josiah (Amanda) Wilkinson; siblings Gladys (Evans) Bartram, Gilbert Jarrells, Marlene Huntley, Herbert Warren Smith, Adam Evans, Shirley Evans, George Reuben Evans, III; grandchildren Daniel and Gary Faustino, Joelle (Ferretti) McCoy, Raechel (Ashley) Gracia, Ryan Ashley, Isaac, Joel, Leah, and Levi Ray; great grandchildren Aliyah McCoy, Emelia Gracia and soon to come Gabriella Gracia; and nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Family will receive friends Sunday, October 8, 2017, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, Grove City, OH. Funeral services will be held on 10 AM Monday, October 9, 2017, at the Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, Grove City, OH, with Rev. Benjamin Tatman officiating. Interment at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
