Seeran M. Traphagan

Seeran Martha Traphagan, age 89, of Friendship Village of Dublin, longtime resident of Upper Arlington, passed away Monday, November 30, 2009. She was born February 22, 1920 in Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Kachig and Nellie Armen and sister, Armenette Rau. Survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles R. Traphagan; daughters, Janis Barry of Cincinnati, OH and Joan (Tom) Sant of Columbus; grandson Ryan (Amy) Barry of Tampa, FL; granddaughters, Torre (Marc) Summers of Columbus and Megan (Jack) Shih of Sherman Oaks, CA; great grandchildren, Dylan and Camryn Barry, Marin and Tucker Summers and niece, Connie (Bill) Acklin of Newark, OH. She was a 1940 graduate of The Ohio State University and a loyal and enthusiastic Buckeye to the end, having enjoyed many trips to the Rose Bowl with her husband Chuck. A 49 year member of First Community Church, she was a member and past president of Group Y and a member of Board III of Riverside Methodist Hospital. It would be hard to find someone with a kinder heart than Seeran. She loved all of God’s creatures, great and small. She had many wonderful friends, some since childhood. What could be better than playing golf in your 70’s and 80’s with your girlfriends, followed by lunch at the Chef-O-Nette? Seeran loved entertaining her family and friends for wonderful dinners and parties. She was a fabulous cook, gardener and seamstress, and had a beautiful soprano voice. She was a natural beauty, but her greatest beauty came from within. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2009 in the Burkhart Chapel of First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd, with Dr. Richard Wing and Rev. James Long officiating. Private interment Green Lawn Cemetery.
