Sharon attended Ambassador College in Pasadena, California majoring in English and ran track for the college specializing in the dashes. She furthered her studies at the American Bar Association (ABA) approved Paralegal Program at Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio, completing the necessary requirements for Professional Paralegal Certification. She continued to develop her expertise by attending numerous professional conferences and workshops throughout her career. She most recently worked at Alternative Risk Management as a Paralegal, with a concentration on Workers’ Compensation Cost Containment. She was also employed in the banking and accounting industries. Her diligence and excellent performance opened doors for her to train and supervise other employees.
Sharon met the love of her life, Terrance M. Hubbard, Ph.D. in 1992. Recognizing early in their relationship that God had brought them together, they married on July 30, 1994. Sharon’s devotion to her family, including their children, Cameron and Kenya, and their granddaughter, Jada, was a genuine blessing. She was an excellent cook, and was gifted in managing her household, including the budget.
Sharon had many interests. She loved to sew, make jewelry, read, quilt and travel. Hawaii was one of her and Terry’s favorite destinations. When not spending time with her family, she socialized with friends. Reflecting on her passing, some of her friends have beautifully described her as “a bright light”, “a special lady”, “a happy spirit”, and “a polished and poised woman who supported others.”
The most important decision of Sharon’s life was made at an early age when she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She most recently attended The Vineyard Church in Columbus, Ohio, where she found the services to be uplifting and engaging. Because of her love for God’s Word, she also participated in small group Bible Study and fellowship.
Mourning her passing and cherishing her memory are her husband, Terrance Hubbard; her children, Kenya and Cameron Hubbard; parents James and Garnett Towler; sister Shirley (Laurin) Towler-Hayes; aunt Estella Falden; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
