Shawn Nelson

Shawn was a 1991 graduate of Westerville North High School where he played on the golf team for three years. Shawn was a self-taught golfer and would play from morning to night if he could. He enjoyed riding his bike, taking his daughters swimming, OSU football, and cars, especially attending the Detroit Auto Show with his family. Shawn will be remembered for his ability to make people laugh, appreciation for sarcasm, and his great sense of humor.

Shawn will be missed by his daughters, Abigail and Andrea; father, Ronald Nelson; mothers, Carol Alberts, and Mary Nelson; brother, Scott (fiancée, Michelle Kristufek); sister, Alissa Nelson; many aunts and uncles; and his mother’s fiancé, Randy Pennington.

Family will receive friends Monday, August 15, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH, where the funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m., Lisa Nelson, officiating. The graveside service will be held following the service at 12:30 p.m. at Wilson Cemetery, 4254 Marion Rd., Newark, OH. A trust fund will be set up for Shawn’s daughters in his memory.
