Shirley Jane Potter

Shirley Jane Potter, age 84, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on December 15, 2022. She was born on April 4, 1938 to the late Sam and Flossie (Vanover) Price. In addition to her parents Shirley is also preceded in death by; husband Clyde E. Potter; sisters Willa Mae “Billie” Lamb, Ernie Rose, Delema Ann Price, Alice Rose, Betty Gillman Verdine, brothers Harry Gillman, Sam Price and great grandson Drayven Travis Whaley. Shirley leaves behind her daughter Brenda (Herman) Scurlock; grandchildren Shawna (Todd) Hamilton, Travis Whaley, Jason (Diane) Scurlock and Herman Scurlock III; great grandchildren Ashley Hamilton, Collin Hamilton, Madison Blankenship, Jaylyn Whaley, Evan Brunner, Ivy Satterfield and McKinlee Scurlock. She also leaves behind close nephews Bradley Allen Potter and Johnny Price and special companion Ronnie Riddle. Shirley was an avid purse collector and former officer of the Ohio Country & Western Music Association. Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 21, 2022 from 4PM to 7PM at the Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services by Schoedinger - Hilltop, 3030 W Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204. Funeral service will take place on Thursday December 22, 2022 at 11:30AM at the funeral home with burial to follow in Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, Ohio.The service will be officiated by long-time family friend, Michael Rose. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made in Shirley’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association Center Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
