

Shirley Ann Scranton, 78, of Galloway, Ohio passed away early evening on February 22, 2018 at Doctors Hospital with loved ones surrounding her bedside. Shirley was born December 11, 1939 in Columbus where she grew up and graduated high school at Holy Family, class of 1957, before attempting to join the Navy underage and was honorably discharged. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, William "Bud" Scranton; brother, Raymond "Butch" Papp; sons, Robert "Bob"(Valerie) and Richard Pack; and step son, William "Buddy" Scranton; grandchildren, Samantha, Robert "Bobby", Julie, Craig, Charles, Christopher, Shirley "Anni", Ashley and Richard "DJ" Pack; sister in law, Linda(Bill) Scalf. Shirley also had many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and dear friends whom she loved deeply. So much so that she often used skills and knowledge absorbed from her years as a beloved legal secretary, to help everyone she possibly could, in which she found great joy and satisfaction. Shirley also enjoyed sunbathing, shopping, playing games on her computer and phone, spending time with her friends and family also including members of the Amvets Post 1928, of which she was a lifetime member. She is preceded in death by children; Tamara and Ronald Pack, Mother; Dorothy Galvin, daughter in law; Tina Pack, sister in law; Cheryl Papp and nephew Scott Papp. Shirley's loving nature, quick wit and vast knowledge and intelligence, immense beauty and feisty sense of humor will truly be missed and never forgotten. Family will receive friends on Wednesday February 28 at HOPE AND HEART FUNERAL HOME by SCHOEDINGER 3030 W. Broad St. from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service to celebrate Shirley's life will follow on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
