What a blessing to have had Steve in my life. I am positive that you all felt the same gracious energy that I did whenever around Steve. I was introduced to Steve through mutual a friend in a business relationship decades ago when we were both just starting our careers. We immediately formed a strong friendship. Over the changing years, holidays, houses, jobs-  I had the good fortune of sharing friends and family at many simple get togethers and also special commemorative events where I felt honored to be welcomed as part of the extended family. It was impossible not to feel the tremendous loving bond between Steve and Michele. Steve projected a light that attracted the best of people around him. Always self effacing although very accomplished- his humor was infectious.  His care and concern for family and friends was foremost and constant. Steve's big smile and warm heart will always live on inside the honored pantheon of friendships inside my own heart. I know so truly that we are all better people for the simple fact that we knew Steve and although missed by many, he will always be remembered by so many more.

Since I only knew Steve when he was in high school, I will always remember him as the receiver on the Bucyrus Football team, back in the early 80's ... It was fun watching Steve & his brother, play for the Redmen - and they did enjoy some success.. I was not surprised to learn how successful Steve was in business, & not at all surprised to find out what an outstanding family man he was... I first met Steve at a business meeting, he was with Cardinal Health and I was with P4 Healthcare.  After meeting briefly we then ran into each other at the airport each of us heading home. With a few minutes to spare Steve asked if I wanted to grab a quick bite so he could learn about what I did with P4 and I was equally intrigued about his role with Cardinal Health. After lunch we parted ways and while flying home it occurred to me I had few details about his role but I knew much about his wife and children. It was certainly a pleasure to meet such a kind and happy person.  My only thought was that is a man who’s truly blessed!  His wife and kids are his world and he just beamed when speaking about them. 

Some time later as fate would have it, Steve and I would become colleagues as I joined the team at Cardinal Health. Shortly thereafter Steve would become my boss and the adventure began. Steve with his kind Midwestern ways and mentality got a quick introduction to the absolute crazy northeast region and its crazy people. Ahh the laughs we had, far too many to mention but he certainly brought calmness to the seemingly and serious wild side of the northeast.

So Steve, for the last time from my earthsuit finger tips to your Heavenly body eyes and ears……………. YO B! 

You my friend blessed all of us with fond memories and laughter.

I'm so very sad to hear of Steve's passing. I worked closely with Steve for several years during the launch of Cardinal's oncology offering. I was a rookie in the sales world, and Steve took me on my very first sales call. I was a deer in the headlights, and after a few laughs (at my expense), Steve became a wonderful mentor to me, always willing to collaborate and share ideas. We traveled together a few times, and his dry sense of humor and quick wit always made for a great time! He was loved and respected by his customers and his peers, and his calm demeanor in the face of total chaos (brush fires, as we called it) was so reassuring. 

He had great perspective, never forgetting that his family was the most important thing in his life. He adored Michelle and his kids, and was always quick to share a funny family story, and he was always so considerate, asking about my family and kids, and I knew he genuinely cared. It wasn't just chit chat.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Michelle, and your beautiful children.  Know that Steve's life touched so many people, and he was dearly loved.  Thank you for sharing him with the rest of us.

The short time I worked with Steve, these are things I remember from our work travel and hours of conversations:

	He adored his wife and family.

	The TV series Breaking Bad, should not have ended.   “Hey did you ever watch Breaking Bad…did you see the episode where….   ….man, I can’t believe they ended that show…that was a GREAT show…”

	He and I thought it would be fun to plan a team gathering at one of the strange little random campgrounds you would see off major highways (road warrior humor) – he promised to supply the charcoal and I promised to pull up in my airstream.

	A wry sense of humor; I always enjoyed his post meeting assessments.  

	He was a natural leader absent of any title – people loved Mayor Steve.

	...Steve loved people and that sweet man …could find the gold in anyone.

I remember Brenner's first day on the job at Cardinal. We were just kicking off Oncology, we had a handful of people and some pretty big ideas and goals. That smile never left his face and it was his trademark! Brenner made a huge impact on so many and his legacy lives on in all the lives he's touched. Sending love to the Brenner family.

I remember meeting Steve at Cardinal and going back with him to his hometown of Canton, OH to introduce him to a few oncology practices. He spoke glowingly of his childhood memories, parents, siblings, and love for family. Worked with him on other projects and always admired his presence, how he put people at ease as if he knew them his whole life. He was a winner and I enjoyed getting to know him and learn from him in the brief time we worked together.

I'll always remember Steve during our first introduction several years ago at the National Sales Meeting...during one of the break-out sessions, we were paired together on an impromptu project -- sunglasses, music, lights, camera and action...all put together in a 20 minute time span!   Steve was "primetime".

To the Brenner Family.  I had the distinct pleasure to work with Steve at Cardinal Health and got to know him just a bit.  That bit was enough to see what an incredible man he was both at work and more importantly, with his family.  You could see right off the bat,  that at his core, he was a great man.  I am so saddened by the loss of everything that Steve meant to everyone he touched especially his family.  We are blessed with many precious gifts as we go through life...Some we are allowed to enjoy for a long time....others only briefly.  But each gift has the power to change and enrich us, to make us better human beings.  Steve was your/our gift.  May you find the strength to get through this incredibly tough time. Steve is truly loved and respected here at Cardinal SPD.  I have only worked directly with Steve for a year and a half now, but admired him and his genuine, caring manner. Michele -- thinking of you and your family. I'll never forget getting the call from Meg on a Friday night from the airport after she had talked to Steve on the phone, saying we needed to hire him now as he was going to start at the competitor the next week.  
Loved sitting with you two at a charity event and watching Steve best George Barrett at music trivia. 
So many great stories from the last 5+ years...

Steve was the first person to show me around downtown Columbus and the Short North after I moved here.  He shared the best restaurants that he and Michele liked to frequent.  He was my tour guide Ken.  Steve was so welcoming and always had a smile for me.   He will be very missed!

It still doesn't seem real.  Steve was a treasure.  He really did set the bar for everything and everyone.  You would be hard pressed to remember a time when he spoke ill of anything or anyone.  He was truly so kind and sincere.  While we were only blessed to have known him for the past 5 years, he truly felt like one of our family.  We love you Steve, and miss you deeply.  All our love to Michele, Livvy, Owen, Jack, and the Brenner and Lanning families. ~The Sargels

I had the pleasure of having dinner with Steve Brenner a few months back. Being new to Cardinal I wanted to make the best impression! He sat next to me during dinner and the last thing we talked about was shop. We talked about his children, his wife, football, Adele! He was so genuine and sincere! He made sure everyone tried every appetizer on the table. We all went out for a drink afterward and laughed at my Bernie Mac impressions. Looking back, I am grateful that our team was able to share that laugh with him! I know that I can speak on behalf of my team when I say that it was a pleasure to have known him even for that brief moment. My sincere condolences and prayers to his family!

May Stephen's  memory always be a blessing to all who knew him.    My deepest sympathy to his family.

We hired Steve Brenner on a Friday night in an airport. 

*He was that good.

Despite our weekend fed ex offer...He wanted approval by his beautiful better half. He said they make all major decisions together. 

* A mans best friend is a good wife.

He rocked a big smile and ...

*good hair don't care 

We laid out an impossible goal ... Some laughed, Steve hired, led and delivered. 

*Being good is hard. 

Our first major pitch was a disaster. Steve's car got a flat (he came into the office tar black with a crowbar) and I called customer by the wrong name several times.

*Good friends don't let you do stupid things alone. 

The last time I saw Steve was with the original crew, he set up a happy hour and talked me into a Moscow Mule. The drink was awful but Brenner stories priceless. 

*Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget.

I am so sadden to hear of Steve's passing. My heart goes out to his family and I am so sorry for their loss.  We have all lost a good friend and that smiling face... I remember all the times when he greeted me with that smile and a huge "Bulb!".....  He will be missed by many!  It is too soon to lose our classmates and friends! My prayers go out to the family!
