Stephen William Shields

Stephen W. Shields Sr.(Bill), U.S Army Veteran, age 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 8, 2022. He was born January 1, 1936, in Columbus, OH to the late William Shields and Leota Varian. Stephen is survived by his children; Leah (Phil) Jones, Stephen W. (Elvira) Shields Jr., Robin (Dave) Shields, and Doug Shields, grandchildren; LeAnn, Stephany, Stephen III, Nancy-Rose, Adrienne, Stephanie, Allan-Cesar, Renee, Courtney, Christopher, Tonya, Leslie, Apryl, Cassie, Anthony, Mandy, and Phillip, 23 great grandchildren, sister, Donna (Eddie) McDonald, and numerous nieces and nephews, along with other dear family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, his past wives; Nancy, Grace, and Janet, children; Stephen Shaffer, Dorie Preston, Billie Shields, Nadine Manter, Clarence Shields, and Christy Pratt, and grandchild, Misty Stephen was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a hardworking man and majority of his career he worked as a professional painter. During his early career he worked as a Boiler Maker for the Local 105. Outside of work and family he had many hobbies which included, camping, crafting, and painting which he loved. Stephen will be remembered for his charismatic personality, his lighthearted manner, and his ability to bring a smile to anyone's face.

He was a bright presence in people's lives and will be missed deeply. Family will receive friends Sunday, January 23rd, 2022, from 3PM-6PM at SCHOEDINGER EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. A funeral service will be the next day Monday January 24th, 2022, at 11AM, with entombment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
