Stephen "Steve" Spangler

Stephen Michael Spangler, born December 9, 1957, age 53, went to be with his Lord after a courageous battle with cancer, Monday, May 9, 2011. Steve was an artist who enjoyed sharing his artwork. Many of his pieces are featured in public places around the Columbus area. His artist name is “Stevi Paradise Spangler.” Steve was a cheerful, helpful, and independent man who enjoyed playing pool, bowling, golfing, and making others happy. Steve enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, a skill he acquired while working at Josie’s pizza. He was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams: Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Cincinnati Reds. Steve is survived by parents, Paul and Mary Spangler, sister, Gloria (Dan) Humphrey; brothers, John (Linda) Spangler and Thomas (Amy) Spangler; three special friends, Paul Maggie, Ron Walters and Chris Frenzer; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Steve will be missed by his loving family and friends. Friends may call Thursday May 12, 2011 from 4-7pm at the Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel, 3030 West Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43204 as well as Friday May 13, 2011 from 10-11am at Cherry Creek Church of Christ, 4977 Sullivant Ave, Columbus, OH 43228 where service will begin at 11am. Pastor Mike Breidenbaugh officiating. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
