Steven Jay Smith

Steven J. Smith age 38, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015. Steven was born on October 8, 1977 in Montpelier, OH to Marsha (Pettis) and Jerry Smith. He graduated from Edgerton High School in Edgerton, OH in 1996. He was in the gifted and talented programs and the National Honor Society. He played the coronet in high school band, football and was on the wrestling team. He graduated from the Bradford School of Culinary Arts in Columbus, OH on August 2, 2009 with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Arts. He also was a student at Bowling Green State University, Ohio State University and Columbus State Community College. He worked at Best Buy for 10 years in the media department. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Margie and Harold Pettis of Arlington, TX and paternal grandparents, Mildred and Roy Smith of Edon, OH. He is survived by his parents of Columbus, OH; one daughter, Aubrey of Newark, OH, and one brother, Eric (Rochelle) of Hattiesburg, MS and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. He worked at various restaurants in central Ohio and was currently working for Longhorn Steakhouse in Dublin, OH. Family will receive friends Monday, November 30, 2015 from 1 p.m. until time of Steven's memorial service at 2 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL 6699 N. High St. Worthington, OH 43085.
