

Steven E. Vandenberg, age 62 of Grove City passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018. Steve was born in Milwaukee, WI to the late Ervin and Virginia Vandenberg. He earned his BA and MBA degrees from the University of Wisconsin where he was a member of the university's Big Ten Fencing Team. He later taught at the University of Texas Arlington where he also coached fencing. He served in the US Air Force where he started his career in healthcare administration in materials management, working at hospitals in MI, AZ, and CA. He was an avid supporter of University of Wisconsin Badgers, the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks. In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his sister Mary June. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cynthia Merrill Vandenberg; step-son James E. (Amie) Brown; step-daughter Melanie (Robert) Wilson; brother Scott (Diane) Vandenberg; niece Jenessa Vandenberg; Steve was "Grandpa Viva" to his grandchildren Allison, Thomas, Ramon, Isabella, and Hattie; He is also survived by step-grandson, James Bremer and many step-nieces and step-nephews.
